Schoology Teacher and Staff Login
Teachers and staff sign in through their district's Schoology address or single sign-on, using their district account. Accounts are created by the district's Schoology administrator, because personal teacher accounts ended in 2023.
How teachers and staff sign in
Staff use the same routes as students, with their own district account:
- Your district's Schoology address, which usually sends you to the district's Google, Microsoft or other single sign-on page.
- A district portal such as Clever, ClassLink or a staff launchpad, then the Schoology tile.
- SSO Login on
app.schoology.com/login, then search for your school or district.
QR code login is not offered to staff. Schoology's documentation says it can only be turned on for non-faculty roles (Schoology Support).
New staff: getting an account
Your account comes from your district, not from Schoology. Contact your school or district's Schoology administrator or IT help desk. PowerSchool's community team tells teachers that a district with an enterprise Schoology account has its own Schoology admins, who create instructor accounts (PowerSchool Community).
Why personal (Basic) teacher accounts ended
For years, teachers could create a free personal Schoology account, known as Schoology Basic. PowerSchool ended Basic access on October 1, 2023. Its community moderators have explained that Schoology Learning is now offered only at the enterprise (organization) level (PowerSchool Community), and that Basic content and data were permanently deleted after the cut-off (PowerSchool Community).
If you see a "no access" message with an old personal account, that account is closed. Your district must create an enterprise account for you.
Admin access
School and district administrators sign in the same way as other staff. Admin permissions are assigned inside your district's Schoology organization. For product support, PowerSchool directs Schoology Learning customers to log in to Schoology and open Support, then Community & Support, to reach PowerSchool Community resources (PowerSchool Community).
Troubleshooting staff sign-in
- Signed in as the wrong person. Staff often have a personal and a work Microsoft or Google account in one browser. Use a separate browser profile for work. How to fix it
- Password doesn't work. District SSO passwords are reset with your district's password tool or help desk, not on Schoology.
- Courses missing at the start of a term. In many districts, courses are created from the student information system. Ask your Schoology admin to check.
Frequently asked questions
Can I buy Schoology for my own classroom?
PowerSchool says Schoology is purchased at the organization level and is not available to individuals. If your school or district is interested, it can contact PowerSchool directly.
Can I get my old Schoology Basic content back?
No. PowerSchool has said it cannot reinstate access to closed Basic accounts and that Basic content was deleted after October 1, 2023.
Where do Schoology admins get support now?
Through PowerSchool Community, which you reach from inside Schoology Learning (Support, then Community & Support). Designated support contacts at your district can also open cases there.
